Flybloc

I cofounded Flybloc in 2023 to explore the use of gamification in the marketing world. My team is in the early stage of development. Flybloc will be the world's first gamification-AI platform that enables consumers and brands to more meaningfully connect with one another.

I'm fascinated with the challenge of designing technology to positively influence how we interact as humans. Today, persuasive tech, namely social media, has fundamentally altered aspects of our psyche. I'm not interested in evaluating whether social is good or bad. There is no question that younger generations use and perceive social differently than even my own. I'm interested in the gaps felt in daily life whereby the current state of persuasive tech is not designed to address. Whether it be boredom or loneliness, these gaps invite new solutions. With new solutions come opportunities for disruption.

For consumers and brands, social remains the primary channel for online engagement. The future of digital engagement belongs to a more immersive, gamified, and personalized experience. I draw similarities to my past work in edtech, trying to disrupt a one-size-fits-all approach to learner engagement. In edtech, we are thoughtful in creating learning experiences that are purpose-driven, interactive, and fun just to name a few. It's the entire system, not just one-off rewards that drives engagement. This is what game designers know really well and hopefully what I can demonstrate to the marketing world.
